There are key elements combined into an overall marketing plan that includes products and services.  Strategies for a product may consist of focusing on a limited product line, developing a very particular product or service, or providing a product-service package containing extraordinarily high quality service.  The next key element would be promotion.  This strategy will include advertising and direct customer interaction.  With the promotion element, usually small businesses have limited advertising budgets, utilizing effective, low-cost mediums should be an important consideration.   An example would be yellow page or white page phone book advertising, direct mail or even online advertising.  Good salesmanship can be very essential to the small business owner.
