I don’t know if I have ever been a cranky customer, but I do recall being upset. So if someone came into your place of business okay, but now they are cranky, what do you suppose made them that way? I wonder if the same thing that upset me made them cranky. On several occasions I went shopping with my daughter and as we entered the store, no one and I do mean no one even greeted us or brother to ask if we needed assistance. My daughter noticed right away (maybe she’s spent too much time listening to my seminars on developing relationships) and commented that she would have to install security cams in her store to monitor the employee’s customer service skills and vowed to discipline any that did not treat all customers like they were going to spend a million bucks. I think it made her cranky, but I have to admit we were not given an opportunity to experience being treated like a customer. Needless to say, we haven’t gone back and have no plans to either.
