Some businesses have strict policies where the use of work computers is concerned. For instance, where I worked, there was no monitoring of computers at our perspective workstations, but, I was way to busy to even surf the web or check e-mail, personal or business. I ran the radio station by a computer, so surfing the web was not an option. But on many jobs, employees have more down time so they tend to surf the web during periods of down time. However, many companies are cracking down on employee Internet activity by implementing stern usage policies and enforcing them through the use of software that monitors surfing, examines e-mail, and restricts the sites an employee can browse. If employees violate these policies, they may very well find themselves without a job. My advice would be to leave personal, personal and business, strictly business.
