
Let’s discuss what the proper netiquette is for communicating online with e-mail and learning the basic skills needed to conduct business effectively using e-mail. Remember, first and foremost you want to ensure the most professional perception you can with any potential customer you may communicate with via e-mail. Learning how to properly communicate effectively via e-mail will contribute to avoiding lost opportunity due to offensive e-mail habits. I usually write and receive 10 or more business e-mails a day and one of the practices I use is the same formal writing that I use in writing business letters. Even when I’m writing personal e-mails I maintain the business format (even though my dialogue is casual) because it keeps me from getting relaxed in online communications.
