If you recall, I told you that I hate it when someone misspells or mispronounces my name. What it says to me is that you don’t respect our introduction enough to spell or pronounce my name correctly. If you’re unsure ask. Remembering names are a challenge for me, so I practice repeating the persons name during the introduction to help me remember it. Well believe it or not, the same goes for addressing an envelope. Always use titles, if sending to couples, use both titles. If wife name is different from husbands, use her full name and his full name—proper etiquette lists the husbands name first, all on one line. When couples are not married with the same address, write their names on separate lines alphabetically and not connected by the word “and.” If military couple and woman outranks husband, her name is written first. Sorry ladies, but the man’s name is always written first unless the wife outranks the husband and/or the above applies.
