A discussion about business and marketing communications (or marcom).

If you are in a networking environment or a social environment, I would like to give you some tips on topics of small talk or conversations to avoid.  Because new technology and the ability to conduct business worldwide, there are various cultures, orientations and international etiquettes to take into consideration when doing business.  These are just a few of the subjects you should not talk about.  Religion I have found ranks high on the do not discuss list.  Next, there are numerous opinions about the war and politics, so stay way from commenting on both as not to offend someone that may have a family member or friend serving in the armed forces.  Lastly, steer clear of conversations about sexuality.  The whole point of small talk is to network and develop relationships and not alienate you or destroy them.
