What Ever Happened to “The Customer’s Always Right”?

Years ago when I was a retail store manager, I operated under the premise that ‘the customer is always right’.  I still believe that is a great attitude for standard operating procedures, however lately I have been the customer and no one I am dealing with thinks that not only is the customer not right, but we don’t care about servicing you at all.  Lady, you need to get a life, stop calling us and inquiring about your business with us.  We need to finish beating kingdom hearts 2, how did you get through that menu system anyhow?  This is the normal for customer service in this information age from my experience.  Is it for you?  What’s happening to customer relations, is it a lost art?  Has companies eliminated the customer relations departments?  I think it’s time we put customer relations and service on BLAST!!  I want my customer service back!!!
