
There are three ways to communicate. Written, oral and by our actions are all forms of communications. Some may not agree that we communicate by our actions but, I do believe the old adage, “actions speak louder than words” is expressed more than we like to admit. Communicating via body language or by our actions can be devastating in the business arena because we could interpret what is being said verbally by the opposing body language or actions we are expressing. You may have the title and look the part but, your body language can’t act the part that your title and look is portraying. I often remind my son that his actions are speaking louder than his words—meaning, you are communicating to me one thing verbally and acting completely opposite of what you are saying. To be an effective communicator, you must learn how to successfully master all three ways of communication.
