
I wondered if you have noticed the recent marketing campaign by NetZero. They have taken the opportunity to leverage AOL’s freebies. There new marketing is a TV commercial reminding the viewing audience who have AOL that they can keep their AOL email and drop the (for me) $24.95 price for internet provider and download NetZero for only $9.95. I know that I saw that advertisement at least three times within a 30 minute period. I agree with NetZero’s decision to leverage AOL’s strategic marketing move. They saw an opportunity that their competitor created and ceased it. This is a lesson for other companies to remain watchful. When the business opportunity presents itself, take advantage.
