
Microsoft and Facebook have joined forces and Microsoft will become the exclusive provider of banner advertising and sponsored links on this social networking website. This is another example of strategic marketing at its best. A joint venture is when one company joins forces with other companies that offer non competitive product or services and it appears to be the wave of the times. A Microsoft senior vice president said, “We believe that the combination of Microsoft and Facebook strengths will be incredibly attractive to advertisers as they forge more meaningful connections with one of the largest, most engaged audiences on the internet.” Whether or not this will be a match made in heaven, we shall see, but until then, it’s all about the Benjamin’s!
