If you have kept records and every business should, you know what your customers need, what products or which services they use. Armed with this information, always have something for your customers. Become a friend with a hand out. But make it a hand out they need or can always use. For instance, if you are a coffee retailer, when you have a new product to taste, send out emails or save the date cards to your customers, and yes you should have their email addresses, letting them know that on this date you will be giving FREE samples of the product and having taste tests and would love to get their opinion. Remind them that they are why you are in business and their needs matter to you.

It's a basic law of marketing putting the customers in the centre of your business offering them all the attention needed. So they feel appreciated and the feed back will function as expected.
