When I was trying to conduct business with my web hosting company, it would have been the perfect opportunity for them to engage me in a conversation where they would implement their marketing strategy to retain me as a repeat customer. I have been a really good customer for over 3 years. I had just given them valuable information to use to offer me their services for my new website that did not have a hosting company yet. So imagine, rather than them ceasing the opportunity to thank me for being a great customer and segue right into the marketing pitch to retain me as a customer, he proceeded to tell me how they could not help me with my situation. Needless to say, who’s changing web hosting companies? Businesses must develop a marketing strategy and everyone must implement it all the time.
