
Doing your research will help you to define your product and services and also the product and services of your competitors in your area. You can get a better idea of how to make your business different and better than the competitions. What are your competitors offering their customers? And are they targeting the right market? How can your business offer more to your target market, so much so, that you create a need for your customers to do business with you? Research the caliber of customers you have in your area and the ones you want to have in the area. I know for me, if the product or service is great, I will go out of my way to patronize that business.
