Successful marketing communications means having conversations that help people acquire enough information to decide they want to do business with us.
This blog is about marketing communications.
In the pre-web world, marketing communications was (for the most part) the domain of the "people from marcom". The rest of us left it alone.
That's changed.
Now, the patterns and paths of our communications have changed, radically and permanently. Businesses no longer control their communications like they used to.
Now, everyone who participates in an organization can participate in the communications of that organization. No matter what your role is in a company, you now find yourself able to communicate with many people both inside and outside your company.
And everyone who has a relationship with your company now has the ability to communicate with your organization.
In other words, we all can have conversations with a lot of people who have an interest in our organizations.
That's a powerful change.
Kinda scary too.
